Dear proto-BPPAians,

We’d like to warmly welcome you to our community for postgraduate and professional philosophers working in the UK (while, hailing from all over the world such as New Haven, USA or Goettingen, Germany). We are probably the first presidents to reign from Scotland (but no worries about authoritarianism - we get rained on too). We bet you didn’t know (or know that you knew) that you are a member of the BPPA. Long before you even knew about us we set out to give you a home; sadly, you did not know where your home was, or that you had one... Our mission is to change this.

The BPPA hopes to give postgraduate philosophers access to resources they may feel are lacking, especially a much needed venue (virtual and real) for making contact with other philosophers in your area (geographic and theoretic), and an incentive for you to come out of your caves for a bit of social something or other (academic or non). We do not, by the way, discourage living hermit-style.

To find out more about who we are, how we came to be, what we do and how to do it, too, please browse around or contact us. The aim of this website is participation so please read the help page to discover how our website works.
